Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the WritersLock mobile application and related services (the "App"), operated by WritersLock ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

01 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

02 The service

WritersLock helps you build a daily writing habit by letting you lock selected apps on your device until you complete a daily writing entry. The App relies on operating-system features — Apple Screen Time on iOS and usage-access permissions on Android — to apply these locks. You are responsible for granting and maintaining the permissions the App needs to function, and for the apps and times you choose to lock.

The App is a habit-building tool. It is not designed to enforce locks in safety-critical situations, and you should not rely on it to restrict access to apps you may need in an emergency.

03 Subscriptions & billing

  • WritersLock is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, typically with a free trial. Pricing and trial length are shown in the App at the point of purchase.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies; we do not separately process payments or refunds.

04 Your content

The writing entries you create belong to you. Your entry content is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us — see our Privacy Policy. Because content stays on your device, you are responsible for backing it up; we are not responsible for any loss of entries resulting from device loss, deletion, or reinstalling the App.

05 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App;
  • use the App in any unlawful way or to infringe others' rights;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or subscription-related features of the App.

06 Intellectual property

The App, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by WritersLock and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

07 Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that locks will apply in all circumstances given the constraints of the underlying operating systems.

08 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WritersLock will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

09 Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

10 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
